Ferrari will not build a special LaFerrari

The problem that the Ferrari brand has had regarding the number of units customers were willing to order in order to meet demand for the LaFerrari has come to an end. A company spokesperson has stated that they do not intend to develop a more radical or exclusive variant, so that they can sell more than the 499 units originally planned.
We do not know what reasons led the Prancing Horse firm to contradict the words of Flavio Manzoni, LaFerrari’s chief designer. In an interview with Autocar, the Italian said that while they were producing the original design proposals for the LaFerrari, there was one option they found especially beautiful. So they decided to keep it secret so that a special edition could be built in the near future.

However, it seems that this statement was misinterpreted by one of the Ferrari spokespeople. The brand has stated the following. “We have never produced limited editions of models that were already limited series, such as the 288 GTO, the F40 or the F50… and we have no intention of doing so.”
In other words, what Ferrari means is that under the LaFerrari name, Maranello will not build any special edition, although what they do expect is to bring to market in the future either a racing variant based on the LaFerrari’s mechanics or a higher-performance model. The most likely outcome in two or three years is the successor to the Ferrari FXX, with a KERS system supporting the 800 CV V12 along with active aerodynamics.
