Filtered! The new Nissan Leaf will have 147 CV and a range of around 400 kilometres
Autoblog has published leaked images that apparently show the technical specifications of the new Nissan Leaf.
The Nissan Leaf is one of the best-selling 100% electric cars in our country, alongside the BMW i3 and the Renault Zoe. The latter was updated a few months ago, and now it is the turn of Nissan’s electric vehicle, which, according to the leaks, is eager to snatch a good number of sales from its competitors.
According to Autoblog, the technical specifications of the new Nissan Leaf have been leaked in several images by the outlet autobytel. Nissan has not confirmed that the information contained in that document corresponds to the official figures for the new Leaf, but logic leads us to think that it does.
The new Nissan Leaf could start from 25,497 euros

If the leaked information is correct, the new Nissan Leaf will start in the US from $29,900 (25,497€) in its entry-level version. The document also shows the price of two other, better-equipped versions, SE and SL, priced at $32,490 and $36,200 respectively; according to what we can see in the leaked images, neither of these two versions should bring improvements in performance or range, only a higher level of equipment.
It will offer 147 CV of power and a range similar to that of the Renault Zoe
As for the mechanics of the new Nissan vehicle, it seems that it will offer 147 CV of power and 320 Nm of torque. Its battery would have a capacity of 40 kWh, and although the document does not specify the range of the vehicle itself, everything suggests it would be quite similar to that of the Renault ZOE (400 official kilometres, 300 real-world km) since the capacity of their batteries would be practically the same. If the information is true, the new Leaf’s battery will have undergone a significant improvement over its predecessor’s, but it would still be a long way off the 78 kWh offered by the new Tesla Model 3 in its long range version.

If the data is real, how would it compare with its rivals?
Firstly, with a starting cost of 25,497 euros (we still don’t know whether that would be its final price in Spain), it would be cheaper than the two rivals we mentioned at the beginning of the article: the Renault Zoe starts at 24,885 euros (to which the battery rental price, between 70 and 120 euros per month depending on the contracted mileage, must be added), and the BMW i3 starts at 37,400€.
In terms of performance, the new Leaf (147 CV) would be considerably more powerful than the Renault Zoe (92 CV) but somewhat less than the i3 (170 CV). The capacity of its battery (40 kWh) would be on a par with that of the Zoe (41 kWh) and slightly higher than that of the BMW i3 (33 kWh), which in principle would also give it a range superior to that of the German model.
