First plug-in hybrid from Axon

Axon Automotive, a new British car manufacturer that aims to produce most energy-efficient vehicles in Europe, plans to launch a plug-in hybrid by 2010-2011. It would also be capable of running in electric-only mode with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Although all its technical specifications will not be known until the day of its presentation, it is known that it will emit around 50 g CO₂/km while consuming a mix of petrol and electricity. This new vehicle, which will be called Axon 8080, will have a very reduced weight as its chassis is made of carbon fibre.
As for its exterior, it has a very aerodynamic shape, which helps it in its aim of becoming one of the leading eco-friendly cars. It has a two-seat configuration with a fairly small boot. Furthermore, part of the materials used in its manufacture are recycled, making it even more economical.

However, one of the most important features is that its combustion engine accepts both petrol and bioethanol, something none of the hybrids in our country accept. All of this makes the Axon 8080 an ideal vehicle for the city, as it can almost always use electric power, although with petrol alone it would not have such optimal performance.
