Flowcamper Friedavolt, the electrified van for camping trips
This German company specializing in camper conversions for vans turns these vehicles electric and equips them for leisure use with zero emissions.

Setting off on a trip in a converted camper van is the dream of many people. Doing so in a van adapted for camping and, moreover, electric, makes it even more appealing. The German company Flowcamper Friedavolt has created several camper van models based on the Mercedes or Volkswagen models.
To do this, the conversion company works on used units of these brands and removes the combustion engine and the fuel tank to replace them with the electrified kit. In this way, the traditional van becomes an electric vehicle that can move freely and without producing polluting gases.

With this transformation, the combustion engine is replaced by the electric motor, which has been placed in the same location as the previous one. It is coupled to the transmission and works in the same way the combustion engine did. In addition, the van’s gearbox is retained, though reviewed so that it works with the new electric system.

The batteries are located where the fuel tank was. They have a capacity of 70 kWh and allow a range of between 300 and 320 kilometres, according to the manufacturer. As for charging, it can be done from any standard socket, so even during rest stops at a campsite the battery can be charged.
To avoid overloading the line during charging, the battery has a charge limiter, so safety is maintained throughout the entire process. As for the rear space, dedicated to leisure, it is spacious. To prepare it, the company has worked with regional businesses, using quality materials. Fir wood can be found, felt panels to cover the walls, and the surfaces are made with vegetable leather, which uses apples in its production.
It features a gas cooker and the toilet is a dry composting one. It has been designed to be comfortable and cosy and to fulfil its function in any situation. That said, the conversion kit applies to vans with specific characteristics. So, if you want to enjoy this conversion in your van, you should consult the company to find out whether it fits what they require for the change.
