Flyboard Air: A flying board that lets a man fly at 160 km/h

The Flyboard Air makes the dream of flying that many of us have possible, in the purest “Back to the Future” style. In a viral video you can see the board flying at 160 km/h.

The Flyboard Air is an invention that could become revolutionary. We’re talking about a board that is capable of making a man fly at more than 150 km/h in the purest “Back to the Future” style.

Thanks to the viralization of a video on Facebook, more than 62 million people have been able to enjoy the Flyboard Air in action. The images clearly show how this curious invention makes a man fly, one who is capable of rivaling a Lamborghini Huracán: one on the asphalt in the middle of a road and the other from above, in the sky.

The Flyboard Air reminds us a lot of the latest water leisure trends, those boards that use the sea’s own water to generate jets of water at extreme speed and allow the user to rise up, giving the sensation of flying.
The Flyboard, however, takes a step forward and does not depend on water to fly.

How does it work?

This invention is built on a board that hides extra-powerful small turbines, which are fed by an engine based on fossil fuels that can generate 250 CV of power. Its operation is very reminiscent of that of a modern military fighter jet, which uses this turbine technology to take off vertically or land in the purest helicopter style.

This invention may have drawn its inspiration from cinema, from the legendary “Back to the Future” to the more than obvious resemblance to the hovering glider of the Green Goblin in “Spider-Man”.

In the words of the creators of the Flyboard Air, 50 to 100 hours of practice are needed on this device before one can make safe flights with it.

For now, its price or its possible launch date is unknown (which we assume will follow the viral success it has had), but what we can predict is that it will not be cheap; in fact, it will be an exclusive luxury for very few. Every time a new technology hits the market, very few can afford it at first.

Take mobile phones, for example, which began to be sold in the mid-1980s as luxury items, something only high-level executives or very wealthy people could afford, and look now: practically everyone has one.
