Ford Mondeo 2019: update and new Hybrid Sportbreak
The 2019 version of the Ford Mondeo arrives, with updates to its design and a new hybrid estate variant. Built in Valencia, this range brings many additions.
The Hybrid Sportbeak is a distinctive model, offering an even more refined hybrid driving experience. It includes a series of technical and aesthetic updates, with which Ford aims to build on the 250,000 units sold in Europe since 2015.
A unique driving experience. We expect it to account for 50 percent of sales,” said Roelant de Waard, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Ford Europe.

Ford Mondeo Hybrid: Technical improvements
The renewed technical features included in this range are very extensive. Regarding the engine, we find:
- 187 hp Hybrid Engine combined with a 2.0-litre Atkinson, available in 120, 150 and 190 hp. This allows it to emulate the performance of a continuously variable transmission
Other technical aspects worth highlighting are:
- Intelligent eight-speed automatic transmission, controlled by a rotary gear selector with Adaptive Gear Shift Programming and Quality Control.
- Improved software, providing greater efficiency and fuel economy by making use of engine torque
- Regenerative braking that recovers 90% of the energy produced during deceleration.
- Addition of the SmartGauge interface to monitor our fuel and energy consumption
- Electric power steering
Renewed styling and trim levels
Its improved trim levels make the Mondeo quite attractive and elegant, enhancing the premium feel of the four- and five-door and estate models. Among its variants, Titanium, ST-Line and Vignale.
On the exterior, we highlight: an improved trapezoidal grille with a deeper look, a lower grille integrated into the new headlight designs, with LED fog and daytime running lights.

The interior, renewed with a greater fit and finish, provides a sense of comfort in the cabin. We highlight the SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system, which allows the driver to control audio and navigation functions, as well as their smartphone, via voice commands.
The new Ford Mondeo aims to make driving much easier with features that make it semi-autonomous, such as the Intelligent Speed Limiter, or the ability to automatically follow the car in front in a traffic jam.
New features that Ford strives to make driving more relaxed and satisfying.
