The Frankfurt Motor Show continues, and we keep bringing you all its news. It is not only about new cars and concepts: every show also hosts parallel events, such as various design and innovation awards. That is why Renault has won 5 design honours from the Automotive Brand Contest jury.

Organised by the German Design Council, the event gave Renault five awards: one for the design of three production models, one for a concept car, and one for the stand concept unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The first award received by the French brand was for exterior design of mass-production vehicles, thanks to the Clio, Captur and ZOE.

Unveiled during the 2012 Monaco Grand Prix, the Alpine A110-50, developed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Alpine A110, was also awarded in the Concept Car category. Meanwhile, the stand concept called The Bump, inaugurated at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, won the award in the Architecture category , recognising the collaboration between the DGT Architects studio and Renault.

These awards recognise the work carried out by Laurens van den Acker and his teams since he took over as Renault’s Design Director in 2010. It is worth recalling that Renault brought a true offensive of models to the German show, including the new Mégane and the Renault Initiale Paris concept.
