Hankook Dynapro AT2: the new all-terrain tyre for 4x4 enthusiasts

Hankook’s range of all-terrain tyres adds an alternative for true 4×4 specialists: the new Hankook Dynapro AT2

Off-road enthusiasts have reason to celebrate. In a market where there aren’t many options to choose from, and where BFGoodrich has for years been the true benchmark, a new alternative arrives: the Hankook Dynapro AT2. Its name says it all: the letters AT are synonymous with “all-track”.

It is a tyre designed for mixed use, both on road and on off-road terrain. It is also built to ensure mobility in summer and winter, thanks to the 3PMSF marking (winter tyre), which allows it to be used on snow without resorting to snow chains.

A tyre tough enough for tarmac and 4×4 use

Among the technologies built into the new Hankook 4×4 tyre is a double-layer carcass with shoulders reinforced for extra protection against damage when driving off the tarmac.

To ensure grip on the road, both on dry and wet surfaces, the Hankook Dynapro AT2 uses silica-based rubber compounds, along with a tread pattern that promotes water evacuation and self-cleaning of elements such as small stones, which could compromise grip.

According to the brand, the staggered block design reduces road noise, while the new tread pattern delivers better results in wet braking tests compared to its predecessor.

The Hankook Dynapro AT2, which will be fitted as original equipment on Chevrolet models and Ford, is available on the replacement market for all-terrain vehicles, for rims from 15 to 22 inches, with widths from 225 to 325 and profiles from 45 to 85, covering a wide range. The available speed ratings range from R to H.
