Hispano Suiza Carmen, the electric supercar with a Spanish origin and name
Hispano Suiza has been part of Spain’s luxury car industry and now returns with an electric supercar that combines luxury and speed

The name Hispano Suiza is starting to be heard again in the car market, after many years in which this veteran Spanish automotive brand has not been talked about much. To make its Spanish origin clear, the brand has launched a fully electric car, of absolute luxury, and with a name that leaves no room for doubt… Thus, the Hispano Suiza Carmen represents the resurgence of a Spanish brand that has made history.
To begin with, we are looking at a car of which only 19 units will be built, which will automatically make it a collector’s model and mark the brand’s presence in that pantheon of very exclusive cars that only a few reach. To prevent buyers from speculating with these cars, the brand has wanted to create a contract that will prevent owners from selling the car before three years after its purchase.

The Hispano Suiza Carmen, an almost exclusive model
Each of the 19 Hispano Suiza Carmen takes between 8 months and a year to be ready, they will be manufactured in Barcelona and the company wants to offer between five and seven units per year. This means it will finish delivering all the units to the lucky buyers in 2021.
But what makes this Spanish electric supercar model so special? To begin with, it is mounted on a carbon fibre monocoque platform, which offers a lightweight and functional structure. Its appearance matches everything it offers in terms of power and luxury, as you can see in the images.

The Hispano Suiza Carmen is equipped with two electric motors, located on the rear axle, which together deliver a power equivalent to 1,019 CV. The electric drivetrain that powers this model has been developed specifically for it, with the help of QEV Technologies, which has acted as the technology partner of the Spanish company.
The electric car offers an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds. The car’s top speed is limited to 250 km/h, which is already enough to fully enjoy everything the model has to offer. As for the battery, it is an 80 kWh unit that will offer around 400 kilometres of range. However, this battery can be replaced by a higher-capacity one from 2020 onwards.
In this update, a 105 kWh battery will be used, which will increase the range. Regarding charging the current battery, a fast charger will be used that will allow it to go from 30% to 80% capacity in just 30 minutes, enough to cover most journeys.
If you like the Hispano Suiza Carmen, you will have to save a little. The starting price will be set at 1.5 million euros, so it can be said that the cost is in line with the capabilities of the car. For now, we will enjoy these images and wait for the first units to be ready for sale.
