Honda S2000: Chevrolet batteries and Tesla engine with 650 CV
The Canadian ‘Institut du véhicule innovant’ has created a special version of the Honda S2000 with Chevrolet batteries and a Tesla Model S P100D engine.
The Honda S2000 has been converted to electric power thanks to the Canadian Institute of Vehicle Innovation. This preparation of the sports car features two batteries from the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt and a modified engine from the Tesla Model S P100D. We recall that the standard version of this car features a four-cylinder combustion engine and a six-speed manual transmission.
Fully electric powertrain
By comparison, the original example came with a total of 220 CV, while this electric conversion is capable of reaching 650 CV of power. The video posted by Sylvain Bélanger on Twitter shows the strength of this preparation as it spins its wheels while stationary, a demonstration of the great potential of this electric version. In addition, the Honda S2000 recorded a time of 10.67 seconds in the famous quarter-mile test.

The two Chevrolet battery packs and the modified Tesla Model S P100D engine provide the car with the necessary power. However, the vehicle has experienced some issues that have negatively affected its straight-line acceleration performance, according to the builders of this prototype.
Despite this, the powertrain fitted to this Honda S2000 is close in performance to the Tesla model. In fact, the car improves its performance considerably compared to the original model. Furthermore, its acceleration surpasses that of most electric vehicles currently available on the market.
