Honda will launch its Accord Hybrid in the Japanese market in June

Next June has been chosen by Honda for the launch in the Japanese market of the hybrid version of the Accord saloon. If everything goes as expected, it will become one of the best-selling vehicles of the year in Japan. This hybrid version will arrive in two different variants: the standard and the plug-in. Honda expects to produce around 10,000 units.
Initially, in Japan, the plug-in version will be limited exclusively to rental for companies and municipal governments, while the standard version will be available for anyone who wants to buy it. It will have a price of just over three million yen, which means about 26,180 euros. At the end of the year, as a 2014 model, it should enter the North American market and the rest of the world.
This hybrid model will mount a 2.0 i-VTEC four-cylinder engine together with a Sport Hybrid Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) dual motor. As for consumption, the hybrid Accord could not be more impressive: it will consume only 3.4 litres per hundred kilometres. A great figure when compared with the Camry and Crown: 4.2 and 4 respectively.
