Hyundai Creta 2022: a small SUV that looks just like its big brother

Following the same design language as the Tucson, this new model features a fresh face and a wide range of technological equipment

Hyundai Creta

The Hyundai Creta was launched in 2015 as a new compact crossover that would enter markets such as India, Russia and Indonesia, where over these six years it has proven to be a product with strong commercial appeal.

Now, Hyundai has decided to renew it, giving it a thorough facelift and equipping it with a long list of technological features. Without a doubt, looking at its attractive design, the first car that comes to mind is the popular Hyundai Tucson, a model that since arriving at our dealerships has become the second best-selling model in our country so far this year.

The same bloodline

But without straying further from the topic, the new Hyundai Creta sports a front end very similar to that of the Tucson. This is because the small SUV inherits the distinctive grille of its big brother, with light clusters of the same shape featuring Full LED technology.

The aforementioned grille is complemented by a large silver-coloured trim that runs along much of the Creta’s bumper, giving it a fairly modern and attractive look.

From the side view, we again find the silver colour of the front trim, this time on the sill. In addition, alloy wheels in 17 inches are fitted, which accentuate its muscular wheel arches and, at the same time, its black floating roof.

Finally, the rear of the Creta debuts new, very distinctive taillights, a tailgate with very pronounced ribs and a small spoiler at the top of the tailgate that completes the fluid line of this crossover.

Technological and advanced

Once inside, we find a digital environment that has nothing to do with that of the previous model. Its 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and its 8-inch touch infotainment screen. Another novelty in the cabin is the ambient lighting built into the dashboard and centre console cup holders, which creates a very appealing atmosphere.

As we have already told you, another major area improved by this update is its equipment: the new Creta features heated and ventilated leather-upholstered electric seats, keyless entry and start, a sunroof, active lane change assist, blind spot detection and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and vehicle detection, among others.

Under its bonnet, the new Hyundai Creta 2022 has a 1.5-litre MPI engine producing 115 CV, paired with either a five-speed manual gearbox or an IVT automatic transmission with front-wheel drive.
