Incredible! This Ford GT40 with 2,000 CV is a true "drag killer"
The previous generation of the Ford GT has received an upgrade kit from the American tuner Heffner Performance that raises its power to 2,000 CV.
The previous generation of the Ford GT is more alive than ever, at least that is what the tuner Heffner Performance would have you believe, since it has unveiled a performance upgrade kit that boosts the American sports car’s performance to unimaginable levels. It is true that today all the spotlight is on the new Ford GT, but what we are about to tell you will rekindle your interest in the earlier version.

First stage: 1,150 CV of power
The Florida-based tuner has published on its website two upgrade packages for the old Ford GT. In the first stage of upgrades, the car’s power rises to 1,150 CV, thanks to a series of engine modifications, a new intake system and a titanium exhaust. This first phase of modifications costs $42,000 (€37,000 at current exchange rates).

Second stage: 2,000 CV!
In the second stage from Heffner Performance things get even more interesting for the Ford GT40. The American sports car’s supercharged V8 engine sees its power increased to 2,000 CV with this final tuning; that is 500 CV more than the Bugatti Chiron for example… not bad at all! This second stage involves the addition of a twin turbo and a reinforced chassis. According to the American tuner, the Ford GT becomes a true beast of drag racing with this upgrade kit.

I suppose most of you will be thinking, if I had the money to buy a Ford GT, why would I want it to have 2,000 CV? The reality is that it would make little sense to fit this tuning to drive on the street, unless you want to become the king of the ¼ mile. Aware of this, Heffner Performance offers many other components to meet the needs of its customers, both for the new Ford GT and for other sports cars. If you are a tuning enthusiast, we recommend taking a look at their website, although we warn you that this American tuner is not suited to tight budgets.
