Infiniti unveils the Emerge-e in motion at Goodwood

Mark Webber has debuted the Infiniti Emerge-e at the Goodwood circuit, in the first appearance of this three-cylinder sports hybrid outside of the motor show halls.

I thought the Emerge-e would follow the path of so many other sports hybrids and electric sports cars, which are merely show-stand candidates that are later shelved, waiting for a better chance at production. But that is not the case with this mid-engined hybrid. The Emerge-e has shown very good health at Goodwood.

And so good, that it has taken a lap of the circuit driven by none other than Mark Webber, who had to make room in his schedule, ahead of the British Grand Prix, to show off this fine example of the brand.

As a reminder, the Emerge-e, at least in concept form, had 402 horsepower thanks to a pair of electric motors and a lithium-ion battery. The petrol powertrain is handled by a three-cylinder engine, while the performance figures announced at the time are impressive: 0 to 100 in 4 seconds and 0 to 210 km/h in 30 seconds.

You have the video below and many more details about the Emerge-e, one of the most eye-catching concepts at the Geneva Motor Show, where we were just a few months ago.
