Infiniti's first electric car will be based on the Vision Qe prototype
The Vision Qe is just a preview of one of the four fully electric models that the Japanese manufacturer plans to launch soon in those markets where it still has a presence
Infiniti is yet another Japanese manufacturer that has taken its time with the transition of its lineup towards electric mobility, but that moment finally seems about to arrive. The luxury vehicle brand Nissan plans to make a grand entrance with its first electric car, which, unlike what has become usual with other brands, will not be an SUV but a spectacular saloon.
Taking advantage of the attention from the public and media generated by the Japan Mobility Show in the Japanese country, Infiniti has unveiled the Vision Qe prototype, which is expected to serve as the basis for developing the production version of the electric saloon we are talking about.

According to the company, the Vision Qe is an early preview of the new design language that the Japanese manufacturer will incorporate into its new models. As can be seen in the images, Infiniti has opted for a distinctive design with a pronounced line that starts at the bonnet and extends over the wheel arches to the rear of the vehicle. The new front end, on the other hand, leaves no doubt that this is an Infiniti. Being an electric car, the brand’s designers have chosen on this occasion to do away with the usual grille that characterises the front of its vehicles, replacing it with some lighting elements that give it a special appearance.
Many questions still to be answered about this prototype
Aside from the imposing design of the Vision Qe that we can see in these images, the Japanese manufacturer has not yet revealed any details about its technical specifications. We therefore know absolutely nothing about the power output of its electric motors – assuming it will integrate more than one – nor about the capacity of the battery pack or the range. Infiniti promises, however, that this will be a high-performance saloon or Performance, with which it will be possible to enjoy electric propulsion to the fullest.

Although it is already confirmed that the production version of the electric saloon that emerges from this prototype will be Infiniti’s first fully electric model, what we do not know is when it will reach the market. Let’s hope it will be relatively soon.
