Interior will lower the speed limit on conventional roads to 90 km/h

The Interior Minister, speaking on Barcelona Tribuna, announced that the speed limit on conventional roads will be reduced from the current 100 km/h to 90 km/h. According to the Minister, most accidents occur on these roads (I suppose the condition of the road surface will not be taken into account).
Furthermore, the government does not rule out raising the limit on motorways from 120 km/h to 130 km/h, but for now nothing is settled and they are still debating this measure. For the moment, it has not been specified when this limit will come into force, but the measure has already been announced.
It seems that the 20 km/h difference between the limits on motorways or dual carriageways and conventional roads is not sufficient. According to Interior, there are three possible solutions: increasing the speed on roads and dual carriageways, reducing it on secondary roads (as announced) or a mixed system.
The State Association of Road Traffic Accident Victims has welcomed the measure, because it will mean fewer emissions, lower fuel consumption and, in addition, improved safety on this type of road. We will have to wait until all the details of the measure are announced, since it seems to be fashionable to tinker with speed limits downwards, and also wait to see whether the limit on motorways and dual carriageways is finally raised to 130 km/h.
What do you think of the measure? Is it really necessary?

Pues como siempre: criticaban a los del partido (s) (o) español (suprimo lo de obrero y socialista porque evidentemente no lo son) y ahora son ellos los que reducen la velocidad en carretera y además no aumentan la de las autovías y autopistas.
