IONITY cuts the price of its Passport charging service subscription
The company thus aims to grow its customer base and allow a larger number of drivers to enjoy a reduced rate per kWh consumed on their journeys
Few things are getting cheaper these days, so we are pleased to report that IONITY has just reduced the price of the Passport charging service subscription in the 24 European countries where it is available. This fee, which until now cost €11.99 per month, now costs just €5.99 per month. All other conditions remain unchanged, although in some countries the price per kWh consumed has also been reduced.
This tariff change will take effect immediately for new customers who sign up for the Passport service, while customers who already have it will see the new rate applied on their next monthly invoice.

As before, having a Passport subscription gives you a discount of 20 cents per kWh consumed compared with the standard rate payable without a subscription. For example, in Germany, where 69 cents per kWh are charged without a subscription, from now on, for just €5.99 per month, the price per kWh will be 49 cents.
As a result, for all drivers who charge more than 30 kWh per month at IONITY’s charging points, subscribing to the Passport service and paying the €5.99 monthly fee will be worthwhile. This equates to covering a little under 200 km with an average consumption of more than 150 Wh per km.
IONITY continues to adapt to the market
This is already the second change to the conditions of IONITY’s Passport service in less than a year. In June 2023 the company reduced the subscription cost from €17.99 to €11.99, but increased the cost of each kWh consumed, going from a fixed 35 cents to a 20-cent discount on the standard price. Now, as we have already noted, these conditions are changing again: the subscription cost is reduced, but the 20-cent discount per kWh consumed is maintained in this case.

IONITY says its aim has always been to enable more and more people to enjoy electric mobility, and with this change to its tariffs it hopes to help achieve that. The company has also reduced the price per kWh consumed, both with and without a subscription, in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Austria.
