In this year 2015 Iveco is celebrating, as the brand turns 40 years old since its creation. Over all these years its vehicles have become symbols of transport all over the world, as well as having achieved great successes and gained international recognition.

The stylised sketch of a truck bearing the motto “40 years of Iveco, 150 years of experience”, is the logo the brand will use to celebrate this anniversary throughout 2015.

The company was created as a result of the union of five of the leading European companies in the sector from Italy, France and Germany, with more than 150 years of experience in the design and manufacture of industrial vehicles. From Italy Fiat Vehicoli Industriali (Turin), OM (Brescia) and Lancia Vehicoli Speciali (Bolzano); from France, Unic (Puteaux); and from Germany Magirus-Deutz (Ulm).

The years following its creation saw various acquisitions, alliances and international joint ventures through which Iveco reinforced its image and presence in both the most developed and the emerging markets.

As proof of this, in 1986 Iveco Ford Truck Ltd was set up, a joint venture, which would eventually lead to a merger, with the truck division of Ford Europe. And later, in 1990, the group bought the Spanish truck manufacturer Enasa Pegaso.

Through CNH Industrial, Iveco vehicles are produced in factories in Europe, China, Australia, Argentina, Brazil and Africa, and the brand has a commercial presence in more than 160 countries.

Iveco has also received numerous awards for the reliability and quality of its vehicles. Among them, three “International Truck of the Year” stand out, received by the Eurocargo in 1992, the Eurotech in 1993 and the Stralis in 2013. Furthermore, the New Daily has recently been named “International Van of the Year 2015”.

The brand has also been, and still is, present in the tough and legendary Dakar Rally, of which Iveco is the official sponsor, and in which it takes part with the Petronas De Rooy Iveco team, winners in 2012.

To get brand enthusiasts involved, Iveco has made available a website, www.iveco40.com, where people can share photographs and videos telling a story linked to the company and its anniversary.

A video has also been prepared showing Iveco’s evolution from 1975 to the present day. Above all it highlights the key events and the technological innovations introduced throughout the brand’s history.
