Renault continues to give hints about the new Talismán

Talisman 1

Renault revealed a few days ago the new name of the successor to its mid-size saloon, the until now called Laguna, which will be renamed Talismán.

The people at Renault plan to fully unveil the new model on 6 July, and in the meantime, they are whetting our appetite with small details.

The Renault Talismán will hit the market with a slightly different role from the one the current Laguna has played so far, which has gone through three different generations, each with its corresponding facelifts. Until now, the Laguna has been a generalist saloon, where sales volume was the top priority.

However, the new Talismán aims to bring back for Renault a premium image lost after some years in which its models have not been as brilliant as they should have been. The Talismán, therefore, joins other new models such as the new Espace, with a much more emotional design and a far superior build quality.

On this occasion, the brand’s officials have leaked two photographs showing in detail the interior of the Talismán’s front headlight, which will almost certainly feature Full LED technology. This is not the first time Renault has used this technology, which we already find in the new Espace and the recently launched Kadjar, which we tested first-hand just a few days ago.

In the other photograph, in a very suggestive way, they show us the stitching of the leather upholstery on the Talismán’s seats. Although this is not the first time Renault has used leather, we are more than sure that this time the feel and build quality will be very notable.

Mechanically, the Talismán will take a leap forward thanks to the use of the CMF C/D platform of the Renault-Nissan alliance, incorporating the most modern powertrains in the group, such as the 1.2 TCe and the 1.6 dCi, both producing 130 CV.
