JAECOO 7: elegant, off-road, technological and arriving in Spain at the end of this summer

The Chinese brand JAECOO of the Chery Group has made its national debut by presenting its first model: the JAECOO 7. This vehicle positions itself as the forerunner of a new generation of off-road vehicles, combining an attractive design, advanced technology and incredible off-road capabilities at a price that will break all barriers and arrive in Spain at the end of this summer.

A design that makes a difference

The JAECOO 7 does not go unnoticed thanks to its exterior design, which follows the philosophy “From classic beyond classic“. It has a length of 4,500 mm, a width of 1,865 mm and a height of 1,680 mm, this compact SUV presents a robust and elegant image that gives it that off-road look. The front grille has been designed with vertical waterfall-style lines, and the JAECOO logo in the centre of the front, together with the full LED headlights in vertical and horizontal arrangement, give it a quite distinctive light signature.

On the sides, we find electrically heated and folding wing mirrors, and retractable hidden door handles. The 19-inch alloy wheels and, at the rear, a sporty spoiler and a darkened glass panel further emphasise the “floating roof” design with a horizontal light element.

Technology and comfort inside

The interior of the JAECOO 7 reflects a firm commitment to minimalism and technology. We find high-quality materials such as synthetic leather on the seats and steering wheel, and the cabin invites you to enjoy every journey. The heated and ventilated seats, together with the heated steering wheel, provide the comfort needed to suit any taste.

The dashboard houses two HD screens: a 10.25-inch multimedia and a 14.8-inch central one. These allow you to manage the infotainment system, which includes support for Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, and a 50W wireless charger. In addition, the ADAS driver assistance system has 18 functions and a 540-degree view camera, providing a safe and comfortable driving experience. The 1.1 m² electric panoramic sunroof brings light and spaciousness to the interior, improving the experience of the occupants across the five available seats.

Performance on any terrain

The JAECOO 7 is presented in Spain with a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine, capable of producing 145 CV and 275 Nm of maximum torque. It is paired with a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission with the option of front-wheel drive or 4×4.

JAECOO’s All Road Drive Intelligent System (ARDIS) offers up to seven driving modes: Normal, Eco and Sport for the front-wheel-drive versions, and Sand, Mud, Off-road and Snow for the 4×4 versions. It also includes locking of the central and rear differentials.

Multi-energy PHEV future

JAECOO is committed to sustainability with the future addition of a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the JAECOO 7. This version will offer 340 CV of combined power, 525 Nm of maximum torque and an electric range of 88 km, extendable to 1,200 km with the combination of electric and combustion engines. This PHEV variant will be available after the launch of the petrol version, scheduled for after the summer.

In addition, the brand has already announced the arrival of the JAECOO 8 by the end of 2024, a model with larger dimensions and equipment, which will also feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
