Jaguar F-Pace 2019: the 5 keys to the refreshed British SUV

The Jaguar F-Pace 2019 is now available from €48,210. It comes with mechanical and safety improvements, equipment upgrades and the brand-new update to the SVR version.

The new Jaguar F-Pace 2019 is here. The best-selling model from the British brand arrives with safety improvements, upgraded interior equipment and a more efficient engine range. The new F-Pace SVR, unveiled at the New York Motor Show, will also join the range with a 550 CV V8 engine. The Jaguar F-Pace 2019 is already open for orders from €48,210. These are its five key points:

1. Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist

The new Jaguar F-Pace features Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist. This system is part of the car’s (optional) driver assistance systems package and works up to 180 km/h. As you may have guessed from its name, this system offers two assistants in one: it keeps the vehicle in its lane (Lane Keeping Assist) and adjusts the vehicle’s speed to maintain a safe distance from the car ahead (Adaptive Cruise Control).

2. Very comprehensive safety equipment

In addition to Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist, the new F-Pace’s safety package also introduces other assistants such as the following:

• Parking Assistants (rear and front): with 360º cameras
• Rear camera with rear traffic monitor
• High-Speed Emergency Braking: the car brakes autonomously at high speed (up to 160 km/h) if it detects that the driver is not reacting to a possible collision.
• Blind Spot Assist

The first two assistants can be acquired with the Park Assist package, but if you want all these systems, in addition to Adaptive Cruise Control, you should opt for the recommended Driver Assist Pack.

3. A more premium interior as standard

The new Jaguar F-Pace comes standard with a more refined and exclusive interior than its predecessor. The Touch Pro entertainment system with a 10-inch touchscreen is now included in the price of the car, a very attractive option that previously required an extra payment.

On the exterior we find changes such as the frameless rear-view mirror and metal door sills illuminated with the Jaguar inscription. The British SUV now introduces metallic pedals, high-quality carpeted floor mats and an exclusive “Suedecloth” finish for the roof. The door finishes can also optionally be chosen in carbon fibre.

4. Greener petrol engines: particulate filter for all

Although particulate filters can cause very unpleasant breakdowns in diesel engines, their use in petrol engines need not cause any problems due to the different operation of the latter. For this reason, and due to the reduction in emissions they achieve, Jaguar has decided to equip a particulate filter on all petrol engines of the new F-Pace: the Ingenium four-cylinder two-litre engine (250 and 300 CV outputs) and the 5-litre V8 unit with 550 CV.

5. Jaguar F-Pace SVR: a challenge to the Porsche SUVs

The new Jaguar F-Pace SVR is one of the great attractions of this British SUV. The sportiest version of the crossover features a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine producing 550 CV and 680 Nm of torque. Its 0 to 100 km/h acceleration of 4.3 seconds, and its top speed of 283 km/h make it one of the most brutal SUVs on the market.
