To launch the Jaguar X 300 Sport Edition, already available from 62,650 euros, Jaguar has prepared an exciting duel between its mid-size saloon and the Olympic speed skating champion on a frozen track.

Here comes the new special edition Jaguar XE 300 Sport Edition. And it arrives with a record. For its unveiling, Jaguar has set up a very special race. The setting: the longest artificial ice track in the world, located in Flevonice, Netherlands. The goal: beat the 4 minutes and 4 seconds time set by Olympic speed skating champion Shaolin Sándor Liu.

The athlete’s girlfriend, Elise Christie, who is also part of the British speed skating team, co-piloted Sean Haughey, head of the Jaguar development team. The time achieved? 3 minutes and 3 seconds. You can watch the Jaguar XE 300 Sport Edition’s runs on the ice in this video.

The Jaguar XE Sport Edition is offered exclusively with the 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol engine producing 300 CV, which already comes fitted with a particulate filter. The AWD version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The homologated average consumption on the NEDC cycle is 7.6 l/100 km.
