Jannarelly Design-1, an Arab sports car with British inspiration and French origins

The Jannarelly Design-1 is a sports car that follows the classic recipe for success to offer a retro sports car in the new 20s

Among the eccentricities coming from the exotic countries of the Middle East, where luxury and discretion are not always coordinated or at the same level, the proposals from artisanal or small-scale manufacturers tend to offer new vehicles that are, at the very least, extravagant.

But this is not the case with the proposal from Jannarelly Automotive, which offers a sports car with a classic profile, equipped with essential current technology and designed with the sole aim of enjoying driving it.

This manufacturer, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, was founded in 2018 by two French entrepreneurs, Anthony Jannarelly, head of design and engineering, and Frederic Juillot, carbon fibre specialist. It draws inspiration from iconic models of the 1960s and turns them into vehicles that follow the recipe for success to captivate.

The concept starts from a tubular aluminium chassis to which a 3.5-litre V6 engine, of Nissan origin, is mounted in a central position. It sends its power to the rear axle through a 6-speed manual gearbox and, if desired, traction control and a limited-slip differential, all wrapped in an elegant and sensual body made of fibreglass or, optionally, carbon fibre.

This translates into a two-seater measuring 3,860 millimetres long, 1,840 wide, just 1,080 high, with a wheelbase of 2,425 mm, powered by an engine producing 330 CV and 370 Nm of torque, whose set weighs only 850 kg. This results in a top speed that is not particularly surprising at 220 km/h, but a sprint from standstill to 100 km/h of just 3.9 seconds.

With this, the manufacturer assures that its Jannarelly Design-1 is the perfect machine for enjoying driving, and it has shown this in this video.

Finally, in Europe

Jannarelly, although it started operating almost 2 years ago, had until now no representation in Europe. The manufacturer has put on sale 5 units named Jannarelly Design-1 UK Edition for its launch in the United Kingdom.

Each of these 5 examples, all built as coupés, will have a distinctive finish using the body colours typical of racing vehicles: Red, White, Grey, Blue and “British” Green. They will also feature a Union Jack on the carbon fibre engine cover, the flag representing the lands of the kingdom ruled by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Jannarelly Design 1 (14)The price of the Jannarelly Design-1 specifically designed for the islands starts at £115,549, which at today’s exchange rate amounts to €135,605.80, but the car, of which the manufacturer only intends to build 499 units, costs from £85,000 as standard, equivalent to €99,745.
