Jeep Avenger 2023: all the specifications of the American brand's first electric car revealed

After being shown for the first time at the beginning of last September, the new compact SUV from Jeep has just been officially presented at the 2022 Paris Motor Show, revealing all its equipment, its interior and exterior design and its technical data.

The new Avenger represents one of the most important launches in the American brand’s history, as it is the brand’s first all-electric model, which will be built on the Stellantis group’s eCMP platform, the same one we already know from other vehicles such as the Citroën ë-C4, the Opel Corsa-e or the Peugeot e-208.

Compact but capable

Despite being a fairly modest SUV in size (4.08 m long), Jeep has wanted to give the new Avenger quite decent off-road capabilities, as it has a ground clearance of 20 centimetres, an approach angle of 20º and a departure angle of 32º. It will also feature Hill Descent Control and Selec-Terrain systems with six driving modes (Eco, Normal, Sport, Snow, Mud and Sand).

The design of the new Avenger gives it a very youthful and fresh image, with compact yet muscular proportions, clean and modern lines with new light units, 18-inch wheels and rugged-looking bumpers, along with the new range of body colours and the extensive list of optional extras.

Modern, technological and very Jeep

Inside, the new Avenger boasts a highly technological cabin, with a digital instrument cluster ranging from 7 inches in the entry-level version up to 10.25 inches in the best-equipped one, and a touchscreen, also 10.25 inches, for the infotainment system. Additionally, a sliding sunroof or leather-upholstered seats with massage function for the front seats will be available as options.

As a true Jeep, the new Avenger has numerous storage spaces, offering no less than 34 litres of storage in the front alone, to which must be added the 380 litres of boot capacity this new SUV will have.

As for its driver assistance systems, Jeep has not wanted to leave its new flagship behind, equipping it with a long list of systems, among which we highlight adaptive cruise control, the emergency braking system with pedestrian and cyclist detection and the lane keeping system, among others.

Its engine and battery

Starting with its mechanical features, the Jeep Avenger will be powered by a single electric motor mounted on the front axle that will develop 115 kW (156 CV) and 260 Nm of maximum torque, fed by a 54 kWh lithium-ion battery that will allow it to achieve a range of 400 kilometres on the WLTP cycle and to charge from 20% to 80% in 24 minutes at 100 kW DC.

To celebrate its debut, Jeep has decided to launch a special edition called 1st Edition with a two-tone body configuration and a very complete level of equipment at an attractive price.

For the time being, the brand has chosen to keep the prices of its new 100% electric SUV under wraps, so we will have to wait to learn the final details.
