Jeep will give a strong boost to the electrification of its range by 2025
Jeep does not want to miss the electrification train, adding to its catalogue for the North American market two fully electric models before the end of the year, among other novelties
Antonio Filosa, the current Chief Executive Officer of Jeep, unveiled the company’s ambitious medium-term plans this past Friday. According to him, next year Jeep will have two fully electric models in its catalogue for the North American market, which will be joined by a wide range of plug-in hybrid models.
The Jeep Wagoneer S, which we have already discussed earlier here on HighMotor, will enter production in the second quarter of this year, with the aim of delivering the first units in the third quarter. Its fully electric propulsion system will make this large SUV the fastest model ever sold by Jeep in its entire history, capable of reaching 100 km/h in just over three and a half seconds.

The Wagoneer S will be based on Stellantis’ STLA Large platform, the same one that will be used by the second electric model from the American manufacturer, the Recon. Its launch is expected shortly after the Wagoneer S and before the end of 2024, so that Jeep will begin next year already with two fully electric models in its catalogue.
More pure electrics and also more plug-in hybrids
The range of Jeep plug-in hybrid models under the 4xe badge will also grow in 2025. The company plans to launch five new models with this propulsion system, including some electrified variants of current combustion-engine models. One of them will be the Gladiator, which was announced some time ago.

With this strong push towards electrification across its range, Jeep hopes to gain market share especially in its home market, where it has been losing ground in recent years. To achieve this goal, the company has already begun taking its first steps, reducing the price of some of its models already on sale, such as the Grand Cherokee and the Gladiator. Jeep has also renewed the Wrangler; and as Filosa himself explains, the company is making a significant effort to increase the quality of its vehicles while at the same time reducing production costs.
