Kia already has plans for its next electric Soul
Kia is reportedly preparing an electric Soul or an electric successor to this model, which would reach the market around 2014.

The South Korean Kia has announced that its next commercial venture in new technologies will be an electric model on the same platform as the Kia Soul, going on sale in 2014.
The electric Soul model arrives just as it is about to become the longest-running car in the brand’s line-up, so its successor will have to take over the model and an electric powertrain that is still unknown and will be offered in all markets.
Even though the electric car has not taken off even in Korea (Kia sells the Ray there with little success), the Korean brand has high hopes for the electric Soul in Europe, where its sales have risen considerably in recent months, with more than 340,000 units sold.
Next, all of its models will undergo a renewal, although no other electric variant had been planned, only what has been announced for the Soul. The Sorento, the Carens and the ProCeed will be the next models that Kia will renew by 2014.
