Kia has recalled 56,000 Kia Cee´d vehicles across Europe, including the 1,661 sold in Spain, according to a statement from the South Korean manufacturer. This time the problem concerns the brakes, as some owners reported to the brand a reduction in braking power in their cars.

The units affected are those equipped with electronic stability control, and Kia is already taking the necessary precautions and preparing the callback to the workshop. The problem appears to originate in the brake master cylinder, which will be replaced when the car is taken to the workshop.

The models involved are the Cee´d in its three-door, five-door and estate body versions, manufactured between 1 April 2008 and 30 March 2009. Kia has stated that the vehicle inspection takes less than 15 minutes and the part replacement takes around 35 minutes, and that it will carry no cost for the customer.

So if you own a Kia Cee´d of that model and year, you will need to set aside an hour of your time (not counting the possibility that you may have to wait a while longer to be seen). But it is preferable to lose a little time and drive safely with your brakes, although according to the brand, no one has suddenly been left without brakes and no accidents caused by brake failures have been reported.
