Kia will be launching a new electric Niro soon

Brands are positioning themselves in the growing and promising market for electric cars, looking for a niche among the offers that will arrive very soon. Hybrids seem set to dominate in the coming years, but 100% electric models also have their share of this market. Kia seems to think the same and, after presenting its hybrids, wants to launch more models that fit this new demand.
The car that seems set to follow in the footsteps of the Hyundai Ioniq, which has already been presented in three versions—hybrid, plug-in hybrid and 100% electric—will be the Niro. The compact will be the one chosen to incorporate an electric drivetrain that can move the car with ease and place it among the clean models with no polluting emissions.

The Niro is currently offered as a hybrid crossover, so it is already a fairly clean car and can be considered one of the brand’s bets for meeting these goals. Even so, adding a fully electric version to the lineup will make it more appealing to potential buyers and turn it into a very attractive option for those who want to enjoy safe driving that doesn’t harm the environment.
The brand has not yet confirmed the news, but apparently the green light has been given for the development of this version. What we expect from this model is that it will use the same drivetrain as the electric version of the Hyundai Ioniq. This would mean we will see the 28 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery used by the Ioniq EV. This would represent a range of about 280 kilometres, also taking advantage of regenerative braking.
Still, we will have to wait a little longer to see this variant of the Niro, since although everything seems to be moving forward, it has not yet entered production. We are waiting to see how Kia approaches its arrival in the market of cars running on clean fuels.
