Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut: it will reach 533 km/h!

The new Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut will break the 500 km/h barrier, thus surpassing the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+. The current record stands at 490 km/h.

The Swedish hypercar maker delights us every year with a production that is even more astonishing than the last. A few years ago it was the Agera, then the Regera and, just recently, they surprised us with the Gemera and its more than 1,700 CV of power. But it seems that for the Swedes it’s not all about power figures, but also about speed.

We told you two weeks ago that the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut could beat any speed record set so far. It now seems to be real and that, after testing, it will be so.

Koenigsegg already held this record before

In September 2019, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ reached a staggering 490.48 km/h. It was at the German Ehra-Lessien circuit and it was the firm’s third record this century. But the record was held by Koenigsegg with its Agera RS since 2017, reaching 457.50 km/h.

Bugatti managed to smash that record by 33 km/h. In other words, it didn’t fight over tenths to see which model was the fastest… instead, it annihilated the Agera RS’s record. Now it is Koenigsegg’s turn again with its Jesko in the Absolut version. The Absolut’s improvements over the standard Jesko have been, solely and exclusively, aerodynamic. The Swedish hypercar will feature a 5.0-litre V8 engine that produces 1,600 CV and 1,500 Nm of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut: theoretical top speed of 532 km/h

We start from the premise that nothing is official yet. Christian von Koenigsegg has revealed the data obtained from the simulations carried out. That said, according to the Swedish boss, the numbers obtained are accurate since the simulations are precise and exhaustive to offer realistic forecasts. But according to the Director of Engineering, the figure achieved ranges between 532 and 533 km/h…

Now we just have to see which location Koenigsegg will choose to attempt this feat. The Agera RS achieved it on the Nevada highway section in 2017, but the Swedish firm has already confirmed it won’t be there as the terrain is not smooth enough. Perhaps the German circuit where the Bugatti hypercar achieved its record, or perhaps they will pull a new location out of their sleeve. The important thing about all this is that the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut could reach 533 km/h. 533!
