Lamborghini Gallardo with twin turbos and 1500 horsepower, by Underground Racing

Truly impressive. A Lamborghini Gallardo pushed to the extreme, with 1500 horsepower available under the right foot, thanks to two turbos, is not something you see every day. The thing is that Underground Racing, a North American tuner, specialises in twin turbo installations for cars of the calibre of the Gallardo, the Dodge Viper and the Ford GT, and this is one of the latest builds they have completed.

On the dynamometer, the Gallardo is a sweet inferno of sound and horsepower that all of us would love to be in. For more detail, this Gallardo has produced 1500 horsepower, although measured at the engine’s flywheel, it seems it would be more than 1800 horsepower.

The Gallardo can only run on special racing petrol, so I imagine the engine’s compression is quite high. The quarter mile, 400 metres, it covers in less than 10 seconds, and the tuner is quick to clarify that its owner was driving the Gallardo for the first time “after the transformation” when he achieved that time.
