Land Rover celebrates its 70th anniversary with a visit to the “Land of Land Rovers”

Known as “Land of Land Rovers”, the remote location deep in the Himalayan mountain range has been chosen as the setting for filming the new video that forms part of the 70th Anniversary celebrations of Land Rover. Here, a fleet of more than 40 original Land Rover vehicles, built in the 1950s, serves as the means of transport for the local inhabitants on their daily journeys.

The spectacular 31-kilometre route is the one often driven by the inhabitants of the villages of Maneybhanjang and Sandakphu in their Land Rover vehicles, which face dangerous stretches with dizzying climbs, dense vegetation and very treacherous weather. Sandakphu sits perched high in the mountains, more than 3,600 metres above sea level, and is accessible only via this rocky track, which is a real challenge for the legendary Land Rover.
