At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Land Rover adds variety to its luxury SUV family with the launch of a new extended wheelbase bodywork version, the first Range Rover of this kind built in 20 years, the Range Rover LWB. The previous version had been the Range Rover LSE, built between 1992 and 1994.

The 186-millimetre increase in space for the legroom of rear-row passengers has been achieved thanks to the lengthening of the bodywork ahead of the rear axle.

Available with either a traditional bench or the optional Executive Class individual seats, the second-row backrest can recline up to 17 degrees, adding eight more degrees on the standard model equipped with this feature. The additional longitudinal travel of the front passenger seat base further increases the space and comfort of rear passengers. The extended wheelbase version features electric rear window blinds and a panoramic roof as standard, as well as offering greater load capacity. Range Rover extended wheelbase models will be easily recognisable by the distinctive “L” badge located on the lower part of the front doors.

The extended wheelbase version of the Range Rover will be available in our market in combination with the Autobiography trim, and under no circumstances can it be paired with the TDV6 engine. Likewise, later on the extended wheelbase version will also be available with hybrid powertrain, a combination designed specifically for the demands of the Chinese and American markets.

Prices are as follows:

  • Range Rover 4.4 SDV8 LWB Autobiography at €145,400
  • Range Rover 3.0 SDV6 HEV Autobiography at €146,300
  • Range Rover 5.0 V8 LWB Autobiography at €152,800
