Leapmotor: a new Chinese brand conquering Europe?

A new Chinese brand is positioning itself in Europe to carve out a place in various markets, with electric cars offering quite an attractive potential.

Leap T03 Munich

Chinese brands are gradually arriving in the European market, and we are finding more and more of them in several European countries. At the Munich Show, held recently, it was seen that this trend not only continues but is gaining momentum. The latest brand we are reading about is Leapmotor, a brand we did not know, but which has been present at the German event.

For now, it is being sold in France, although with the launch of new models it is ready to keep advancing across Europe and establish itself in other markets. It only sells battery electric vehicles, and the newly presented models fall within this range.

Leapmotor Modelo Munich

The first of them is called C10. It is a mid-size crossover with a fairly appealing design, and the brand assures that it will feature quality materials that will allow occupants to enjoy comfort and ease.

This SUV is available with a single electric motor located on the rear axle or a dual motor setup, which provides all-wheel drive. The combined power of both motors is 250 kW, that is, 340 CV, in its most powerful version. This model will not be available on the European market until two years from now, at the earliest.

Another of the models presented in Munich is the T03. This small city car has good equipment and a good battery capacity. However, it will not have a very low price, although it will be priced above other similar models at a similar price.

Among its figures we can highlight an engine that delivers a power of 103 CV and a maximum torque of 158 Nm. Its battery has a capacity of 41.3 kWh, which allows a range of up to 280 kilometres of range, and when used only in the city, it could reach 417 kilometres.

The battery can be charged with a power of up to 43 kW, although as standard it only has a 6.6 kW charger. The price of this model amounts to 24,900 euros, but this is before deducting the available subsidies. The equipment this model offers is quite complete.

We find LED headlights; a good catalogue of ADAS systems, such as cruise control; electric parking brake; on-board computer; light alloy wheels; and a multimedia system with Bluetooth connectivity, along with other elements that enhance its value.
