Red Bull has once again surprised us by organising a drag race between an F1 car, a WRC car, a MotoGP bike, a Rallycross car and the Ford SuperVan 4.2. Who will reach the finish line first?

In yet another event that highlights how incredible motorsport can be, the brand Red Bull has once again shown its versatility by organising an exciting speed event that pitted vehicles from different disciplines against each other on a long straight with no corners. This unusual showdown left every speed lover open-mouthed, defying expectations and pushing excitement to the limit, and I’m sure it will also amaze you when you watch the video.

The setting for this unique competition was a drag strip, and the participants included a Formula 1 single-seater, a MotoGP motorcycle, a WRC rally car and a powerful rallycross car. But what really surprised everyone was the arrival of an impressive four-motor electric van designed by Ford Performance, the Ford SuperVan 4.2.

The Formula 1 single-seater, an RB8, famous for taking Sebastian Vettel to the title in the 2012 season, made its appearance in this competition, but with a surprise: instead of Vettel, it was driven by the talented Liam Lawson, who currently sits in AlphaTauri’s provisional team. This top-category vehicle boasts an impressive 850 hp and a weight of less than 700 kg. A true asphalt titan.

In contrast, there was the KTM RC16, a MotoGP motorcycle that competed in 2017. Dani Pedrosa, an icon of two wheels, took the reins of this racing machine. The RC16 is powered by a 1.0-litre V4 engine, which delivers an impressive 270 hp, and with a weight of 157 kg, it is a true arrow on wheels.

The M-Sport Ford Puma Rally1 from the WRC also joined the competition, with Adrien Fourmaux at the wheel. This vehicle, with its 381 hp and a weight of 1.2 tonnes, added an extra dose of excitement to the track.

Finally, the Peugeot 208 driven by rallycross driver Timmy Hansen could not be overlooked. This vehicle, although heavier than the others at 1.3 tonnes, makes up for its weight with an engine that generates an astonishing 600 hp.

Who will win?

Honestly, if I had to bet on a winner before seeing the race, I would have chosen Liam’s Formula 1 RB8, followed by Dani Pedrosa’s KTM and the SuperVan by Ford in third place. Would I have won anything? The competition, known as the “drag race“, brought these four vehicles together, all eager to demonstrate their speed and power on the drag strip. The first impressions were surprising: at the start, the KTM got off in first place, followed by the RB8 and very close to Hansen’s Peugeot 208, but Pedrosa’s KTM rose up as the winner, leaving the Formula 1 RB8 behind, which fell back in the first few metres. The rally cars crossed the finish line practically in unison, creating a striking image.

However, the surprise did not end there. In the second race, Red Bull added an unexpected element: the impressive four-motor electric van designed by Ford Performance. The Ford SuperVan 4.2 achieved a second place in the race, behind the KTM but ahead of the Formula 1 car. With its impressive weight of 1.6 tonnes and extraordinary 1,400 hp, this electric van defied all expectations.

In this second race, Romain Dumas, at the wheel of the SuperVan, left everyone speechless by overtaking Red Bull’s RB8 by mere hundredths of a second. He also demonstrated his superiority by beating both the WRC car and the rallycross vehicle. The Ford SuperVan 4.2 emerged as the undisputed queen of the track in this thrilling competition.
