Lexus ES 300h: the hybrid saloon earns 5 stars from Euro NCAP

The Lexus ES 300h has received the top score in safety testing thanks, among other things, to the upgraded Lexus Safety System + active safety package.

The new Lexus ES 300h has earned 5 stars under the new Euro NCAP 2018 safety protocol. The hybrid saloon has received the highest safety rating with an exceptional score of 86.25, one of the highest marks among vehicles already assessed under the new 2018 programme, a series of tests that are now stricter than usual.

Greater structural rigidity and 10 airbags as standard

One of the systems that contributes most to the high level of safety of the Lexus ES 300h is the autonomous emergency braking system, which now adds a function to protect cyclists (PCS). In addition, the new Lexus ES 300h has seen its structural rigidity improved thanks to the new GA-K (Global Architecture-K) platform and includes 10 airbags as standard.

Lexus Safety System +: the latest in active safety from Lexus

The new ES 300h integrates the most recent version of the Lexus Safety System +, a set of driver assistance systems that enhance the car’s active safety. The Lexus Safety System + is available on all Lexus models sold in Spain. Among the most important technologies in this package are the following:

• Pre-collision safety system (PCS): this system now incorporates daytime cyclist detection.
• Lexus Co-Drive: combines cruise control with dynamic radar and the lane-keeping system, providing level 2 automated driving assistance. It also includes night-time pedestrian detection.

The Lexus ES 300h is now on sale

Orders for the new Lexus ES 300h can now be placed in Spain. The first deliveries are scheduled for January 2019.
