Lorinser, a German company specialised in tuning models from BMW, today brings us a version in which it turns the Smart Fortwo into one more hybrid. It is called Lorinser Easybrid smart fortwo and features two small electric motors on the rear wheels.

In addition, this allows the Smart to gain around 41 CV extra, provided by that electric motor. It therefore has a fuel tank alongside the lithium-ion batteries located under the bodywork, allowing the driver to choose whether to drive with the combustion engine, the electric motor or both.

Otherwise, the Easybrid offers a fully electric range of around 30 km with zero emissions, and the batteries can be charged from any conventional plug thanks to a socket located at the front of the Smart.

Along with the visual changes you can see, such as specific alloy wheels or new bumpers, this version of the Smart adds a small screen inside that shows the battery charge level at all times.

Therefore, this is a model that lets you move with considerable ease around the city and with an electric range that may be sufficient for many people’s day-to-day use. However, you will have to pay around 5,000 euros more than the price of a conventional Smart for this.
