Los Angeles Show: Smart ForJeremy. Is it a swan or a car?

The Smart ForJeremy is a strange concept that will be shown at the Los Angeles Show and that would go on sale in a limited run in 2013. It is an electric Smart with swan wings built in.

The truth is I did not expect a “curiosity” like this one, at the last more or less important show of the year, which apparently has given rise to certain designers who do not always carry the flag of good taste. Such is the case of the Smart ForJeremy, a Smart (which looks like a swan) equipped by designer Jeremy Scott.

The truth is that it makes little difference to know who Jeremy Scott is, but he seems to be the “alma mater” behind certain costumes for Lady Gaga, Katy Perry or Rihanna and other figures of that kind. But to get to the point: the Smart ForJeremy is the strangest electric Smart ForTwo I have ever seen.

Part of the design of the rear, where folded fiberglass wings have been incorporated, which supposedly represent “freedom and a feeling of lightness” (it also looks like Asterix’s helmet). On the other hand, generous amounts of chrome have also been used, both inside and on the bodywork, in an environment where white dominates everywhere.

At a time when the Smart has very low sales in the American market, one does not know whether this will help the brand gain ground in North America. But it probably will not, even though it has been promised that this model will be sold in a limited version during the coming year.
