Macross Epique GT1: Korea's first supercar

The Macross Epique GT1 is the first creation of a Korean tycoon to enter the world of supercars.

At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, any type of vehicle, of whatever kind and origin, has the opportunity to take part, as long as it has something to draw waves of admiration from the crowds who attend this British summer festival year after year. The Macross Epique GT1 has enough reasons to catch attention, as we will see below.

This supercar is the creation of Keyser Hur, a Korean oil tycoon, who is reportedly investing a great deal of resources into this sports car. He turned to Multimatic, in Canada, for its design, while for the powertrain he used the services of Roush to build a 5.4-litre V8 producing more than 800 hp.

The Macross Epique GT1 seems to live up to its looks in performance terms, since it is said to reach a top speed of 368 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds, something that has caught the attention of wealthy buyers in the Middle East. The first step was showing it at the Dubai show last year, but there are plans to sell some units in the US, where they would already be seeking approval to be driven on the road.

Those who cannot afford a Veyron can take home this sports car for a little less money (1.5 million dollars), with the added value of exclusivity, since it is a model that will undoubtedly be rare to see. We leave you some photos of the interior and the V8 so you can appreciate them, and tell us whether you think the Macross Epique GT1 deserves to join the select circle of exotics it aspires to reach.
