MAN Charge&Go: the charging service for electric trucks from the German manufacturer is now available across Europe

This new service from the German truck manufacturer MAN aims to drive the electrification of long-haul freight transport.

MAN Truck & Bus SE has just announced the availability across Europe of its new charging service for its eTruck electric trucks, under the name MAN Charge&Go. Currently, around 650 charging stations spread across the continent meet the eTruck ready standard, specifically designed to ensure compatibility with these electric vehicles. The company plans to expand this network to reach 1,000 locations before the end of 2025, thereby consolidating its commitment to electric mobility.

The MAN Charge&Go service has been created to simplify the experience of drivers of the brand’s electric trucks, allowing them to locate fast-charging stations using a digital map interface. This tool highlights the charging points that meet the eTruck ready standard, ensuring the stations are accessible in terms of maneuverability, height and weight limits.

Additionally, it also identifies stations certified under the eTruck limited standard, which are those that present certain restrictions, such as limitations on vehicle length. To start charging, drivers have a dedicated RFID charging card, which facilitates payment at the stations and can also be used at more than 15,000 additional charging points across Europe.

The charging process is simple: drivers authenticate at the station with the card, and the system handles payment automatically. At the end of the month, fleet managers receive consolidated invoices detailing all the charging points used, providing clear and efficient control of costs. This service integrates directly into the display of the manufacturer’s electric trucks or through the MAN DriverApp application. Users also have access to a portal with all information on charging expenses and card usage.

As part of its expansion strategy, MAN is collaborating with the German electricity operator E.ON to open around 170 stations dedicated exclusively to charging electric trucks. In September 2024, the company inaugurated the first of these stations at a service center located in Berlin-Wildau. A few months earlier, in April 2024, the company also launched a tender process to incorporate electric trucks on the first of the 40 European routes planned for freight transport, thus giving an important boost to the brand’s transition toward electromobility.
