Maserati adds a spicy touch to the Gran Turismo Sport with a new special edition

Maserati has unveiled a new design package for the Gran Turismo Sport. Only 400 units of this special edition will be produced.

The current generation of the Maserati Gran Turismo has been on the market for 10 years, so it would come as no surprise if it were replaced by a new generation soon. But before that happens, the Italian brand has launched what could be its last special edition…

The special edition of the Gran Turismo Sport pays tribute to the year (1957) when the Italian brand launched its first commercial hit – the 3500 GT – and when Juan Manuel Fangio won the Formula 1 World Championship with the Maserati 250F.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of that iconic date, which is why Maserati has decided to launch this attractive special edition now. Like the standard Gran Turismo Sport, the new special edition features the 4.7-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine producing 460 CV. This engine is paired with a six-speed sequential gearbox or a conventional automatic transmission. This model introduces a carbon fibre bonnet (available in both body colour and carbon fibre finish) with a large central air intake. The carbon fibre extends to other parts of the car, such as the front splitter, door handles, side mirrors and rear spoiler. The 20-inch alloy wheels of this vehicle receive an exclusive design finished in gloss black. The Poltrona Frau leather covers most of the cabin in four different colour combinations. Inside, there are also some parts finished in carbon fibre and all kinds of logos engraved with the special edition badge.

Maserati will produce only 400 units of this special edition, which will be offered to customers in three exclusive colour combinations (including the red shown in the image) and four standard shades.
