Maserati MC Stradale Quattroporte Sports Cars Eventos Photos Geneva Motor Show
Maserati at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show

For this edition of the Geneva Motor Show Maserati presents two major novelties. On the one hand, the new generation of the Quattroporte, which had already been unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show, is officially presented for Europe, and on the other, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale.
Let us begin with the sixth generation of the Quattroporte, which keeps the general lines of the previous generations, although its design shows a clear evolution. What has been improved is its aerodynamics, achieving a 12% reduction in the drag coefficient (Cx).
Its dimensions have grown slightly, as this new generation measures 5,262 mm in length, 1,948 mm in width, 3,171 mm of wheelbase and 1,481 mm in height. The front headlights are bi-xenon and it features LED daytime running lights. Although there are also small differences at the rear, this new generation of the Quattroporte has based its evolution on the use of new materials that reduce the weight of the car and, consequently, positively influence the average fuel consumption figure.

This increase in the saloon’s dimensions means that interior habitability is improved, especially for the rear seats, and boot capacity is increased to 530 litres. Among the equipment, the 8.5-inch touchscreen stands out, allowing control of most functions such as radio, navigation, Bluetooth or USB, along with the dual-zone climate control with up to 13 ventilation outlets.
The rear seats are heated and the customer can configure them from a wide range of additional equipment. As for engines, the offer is limited to two: the 3-litre V6 and the 3.8-litre V8. The first delivers 410 CV with torque reaching 550 Nm between 1,500 and 5,000 rpm. In figures, the Maserati Quattroporte accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 285 km/h. All this with a consumption of 10.5 litres per 100 km.
The powerful V8 produces 530 CV and 650 Nm of torque, which allows it to reduce acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h to 4.7 seconds, shaving 0.2 seconds off the V6’s time. Top speed rises to 307 km/h and combined-cycle consumption rises to 11.8 litres per 100 km. The price of the Maserati Quattroporte with the V6 is around EUR 125,000, and for the V8 EUR 170,000.

The other major novelty is the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale, with four seats available inside and an exterior design featuring carbon fibre elements, 20-inch wheels and the chrome double exhaust outlet. Its powerplant is a 4.7-litre V8 producing 460 CV, transmitted through a six-speed manual gearbox.
