Maxus T90 EV: the electric pick-up is now available in Spain

Maxus, the English brand specialising in the manufacture of industrial vehicles that belongs to the SAIC group, has decided to change course and broaden its production range. This time it has launched a fully electric pick-up, the Maxus T90 EV fitted with the top trim level and available in Spain for a modest price of 40,979 euros.

Until now the brand had only sold one model in Spain, a 100% electric MPV received under the name Euniq 5. This month it has presented a second product ready to challenge the competition, although it shares some features with its previous model, such as the propulsion system.

This time the brand has surprised us by launching this mid-size pick-up, surprising rivals such as Ford and Volkswagen, which were already competing in Europe with their latest launches, the Ranger and Amarok. Ford, for example, recently announced the arrival of its fully electric pick-up, the F-150 Lighting.

A single driven axle and a range of 330 km

This electric pick-up features a single motor located on the rear axle, delivering 177 CV of power and 310 Nm of torque. These characteristics have had to be offset by a chassis made of side rails and cross members which, together with the rigid rear axle suspension, give the pick-up outstanding power and handling for any terrain or work.

The truly important feature of this model is its battery, which has a capacity of 88.55 kWh and is responsible for sending power to the rear to move the 2.3 tonnes the pick-up weighs unladen, giving it a range of 330 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. This figure can change in the case of urban driving, which allows the pick-up to reach up to 471 km of range on the urban WLTP cycle. These distances can be affected by the type of terrain the vehicle is driven on, reducing the range by almost half.

The charging cable it comes with is 5 metres long and supports direct current charging at 80 kW, which allows the battery to be charged from 20 to 80% in just 45 minutes.

The Maxus T90 EV has room for 5 passengers and, because of that and the 17-inch wheels it rides on, its dimensions are: 5.37 metres long, 1.90 metres wide and 1.81 metres high. However, its load bed has normal dimensions: 1.49 m deep by 1.51 m wide and 0.53 m high.

Top-level equipment

Maxus has taken care to equip this electric model with all the features and advantages expected of a pick-up, such as a remarkable payload capacity of 1,000 kg and five-seat interior space. It is also worth noting that, although its maximum useful capacity is 1,000 kg, it can tow a trailer weighing 1,500 kg of additional load.

This pick-up has been fitted with the latest technology. Its standard version already includes two screens: the first, 12 inches, covers the entire instrument cluster, and the second, 10.25 inches, is designed to host the multimedia functions.

This model is available with a double cab body, with four doors and five seats. This new pick-up has been equipped with relevant systems covering safety, connectivity and comfort. A clear example is the materials used which, together with the finishes, sound insulation and sense of space, make this pick-up a vehicle to enjoy in every respect.
