McLaren New Senna stamped one hour after pick-up

This unfortunate McLaren Senna suffered a minor accident last Saturday, right after being collected by its new owner. We are talking about a car worth no less than 1 million dollars.

Last Saturday, a distracted owner had the bad luck of crashing his new McLaren Senna 1 hour after picking it up. The incident took place in Germany, and it is worth noting that this car is priced at 1 million dollars.

The photo of the accident was immediately shared across various social networks, sparking a tsunami of reactions of all kinds. Curiously, most of them stand out for their comedy and mocking tone.

We cannot say exactly what the total damage to this model from the English manufacturer is, but what is clear is that it has not come out unscathed.

According to sources, this model was handed over to its owner that same Saturday. This is the first documented case of a McLaren Senna crash to date. This exclusive hypercar is limited to 500 units and pays tribute to what many consider the greatest racing driver of all time, the late Ayrton Senna.

The engineering behind this beast is truly superb. The Senna is capable of going from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds from a standstill. Its top speed reaches 340 km/h.

Its engine produces a total of 789 CV and 800 Nm of torque, figures that place it slightly behind the McLaren P1 in terms of power. Yet, to be honest, based on the name alone, its incredible design and aggressive look, I would choose this model over the P1a thousand times.

In fact, the McLaren Senna, despite being somewhat less powerful than the most luxurious car from the prestigious English manufacturer, is capable of beating its older sibling on a circuit, which gives us a hint of the incredible dynamism it is able to reach.

It is always a shame to witness this kind of incident, especially involving a marvel like the McLaren Senna. The good news is that its occupants walked away unharmed, and that this embarrassing scene was surely the result of a moment of euphoria upon getting into a new car that, as it happens, is a monster on the road.

As we can see in the photo, the position of the hypercar is tilted, which hints at what may have happened.

My best guess is a loss of traction after a sudden acceleration when exiting a corner, which would cause the rear end to slide out. In untrained hands, the driver would lose control of the vehicle and be thrown sideways in a purest drift-style move; this, combined with braking, could explain the scenario we see here.

On the other hand, the owner who crashed it will surely have no problem affording the repairs, so he will soon have it back in perfect condition. Let’s hope that if he wants to get the most out of it, he does so on a circuit.
