Megane R26-R is officially revealed

The French company is revealing at the London Motor Show its new limited edition, of which we saw the first teasers.
It has been confirmed that the car broke the speed record for FWD cars in its class on the Nürburgring circuit with a time of 8 minutes 17 seconds, demonstrating its extreme performance.
The most important improvement in achieving the record was reducing the structure’s weight by 123 kg. In this way, the 230 CV of power produced by the engine, together with the gearbox and the limited-slip differential seen on the Mégane F1 Team R26, made this sports car another collector’s machine.
The exterior is easily recognisable mainly because of its carbon fibre body, the rear spoiler, the Nürburgring logo decals, the front headlights and, finally, the characteristic graphics of each of the seven colour options available for the car.
Inside, the sporty theme continues with the upholstery, seats and steering wheel. However, the rear seats, airbags (except the driver’s airbag), climate control system, windscreen wipers, fog lamps and most of the soundproofing structure have been removed.
Only 450 units will be manufactured, which should hit the roads in early October.
