Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC Sedan, dynamic luxury now has a price
The Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC now arrives as a Sedan body style, for those who, in addition to sportiness, are looking for elegance and style.
The new Mercedes-AMG 35 4MATIC Sedan joins the Mercedes A-Class range as the high-performance version of the A 35 with five-door, two-box bodywork, presented in 2018, and which reaches our market this month, arriving in August, with a starting price from 58,700 euros.

2-litre turbo engine with 306 CV and 4MATIC all-wheel drive
Technically there are hardly any differences between the two beyond those derived from the body style, which in this case is based on the Mercedes A-Class Sedan. The engine is a 2-litre turbo four-cylinder, with a maximum output of 306 CV at 5,800 rpm. Peak torque of 400 Nm is reached between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm.
Power is sent to all four wheels through the 7-speed Speedshift DCT AMG dual-clutch gearbox (with standard launch control, called RACE-START), and the variable all-wheel drive AMG Performance 4MATIC system.
Compared with the five-door, the Sedan claims a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 4.8 seconds, one tenth slower. As with the 5-door, the top speed is limited to 250 km/h, and the homologated average consumption on the combined cycle is 7.2 l/100 km.

Among the technical solutions that Mercedes-AMG uses in this engine is a twin-scroll turbocharger, variable valve timing CAMTRONIC, piezoelectric injectors and a special system for reducing internal friction. It also includes a exhaust system with an electronically controlled butterfly valve, which varies the sound depending on the selected driving mode.
The all-wheel drive system uses a multi-plate clutch with electromechanical actuation integrated into the rear axle, which variably distributes torque between the two axles.
It does so based on parameters such as speed, lateral and longitudinal accelerations, the steering angle and the difference in rotation between the wheels, the selected gear and the throttle position.
Five driving programs
The five programs offered by the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT system allow the Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC Sedan to behave like a saloon that prioritises comfort and efficiency – as far as possible – for travelling, or extreme effectiveness for driving even on a circuit.
It includes Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Individual programs and a special program to make driving easier on surfaces with low grip.

The system also influences the options of AMG DYNAMICS, which works in “Basic” or “Advanced” modes by acting on the brakes of the inside rear wheel in a corner, to induce a yaw movement that improves agility.
The AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with adaptive damping is also standard.
The brakes use 350 mm front discs with four-piston monobloc fixed calipers, and 330 mm discs on the rear axle with single-piston calipers. All four discs are ventilated and drilled, and the calipers are painted silver.
Optional AMG TRACK PACE package
An interesting option on the A 35 4MATIC is the AMG TRACK PACE, which integrates into the MBUX multimedia system, and records up to 80 vehicle parameters when driven on a circuit.
With this system, the driver can easily see, through a colour code, whether they are improving or not on their best recorded lap time. And at the end of the session, the data can be downloaded for analysis and to look for areas to improve.

The system’s data can be displayed on the digital instrument cluster, on the multimedia screen display, or on the Head-up Display, which is also optional. And you can choose between 2D and 3D map representation (with preloaded circuits such as Nürburgring or Spa).
Finally, the augmented reality function included in MBUX can display the ideal line on a stored circuit, in the purest style of video games.
