Mercedes AMG Project One, spotted incognito in the UK
Although it still has some way to go before it is fully ready, the Mercedes AMG Project One is already in the final phases of testing, though completely camouflaged

For several months now, the one set to become the fastest and most efficient sports car in the brand’s lineup has been brewing at Mercedes, and after many months of development, it seems ready to go out and break records. Mercedes has released the first official images of the Mercedes AMG Project One, although it is still a test mule and, as such, appears under a disguise that hides the details of its bodywork.
Even so, it is as spectacular as we expected. A powerful and very distinctive image, in which we can see the shark fin at the rear and a large air intake on the roof, two details we already knew about, which come from the world of Formula 1 and are confirmed in this test version. The Mercedes AMG Project One was unveiled in 2017, and since then we have been waiting for more details on the start of its production, which is getting closer all the time.

This marvel we see on track is equipped with a 1.6-litre V6 engine dedicated entirely to the rear axle. The two electric motors that form part of the hybrid powertrain are located on the front axle. Looking at the figures this model offers, we find an acceleration from 0 to 200 km/h in less than six seconds, which makes it faster than cars that need that time just to reach 100 km/h. The top speed of this model is recorded at around 350 km/h, which is not bad at all.

The technology used requires a fairly high level of specialisation, so testing is still taking place in some secret location in the UK, where these photos were taken, and there is still considerable ground to cover before it is fully ready. We can say little more about the car, other than to enjoy these images and hope that soon it sheds its disguise and is revealed in full.
