Mercedes-Benz delivers the first units of its eActros 600 electric truck

With the eActros 600, Mercedes-Benz aims to set new standards in emissions reduction and sustainability for long-haul road transport.

Following the start of series production of the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 at the end of last November, the German manufacturer has just announced the first deliveries of its new electric truck for long-haul freight transport. According to the company, its current plans are to deliver around 50 units of the eActros 600 in Germany before the end of the year.

At the event held to mark the start of production of this electric truck at the Wörth plant just over a week ago, Mercedes-Benz promised that the first deliveries would take place this same year, and that promise has now been kept. These first units will go to German customers who had already placed firm orders for one or several units of the eActros 600, among them companies such as August Gschwander Transport, Blue Känguru, Brummer Logistik, Contargo, Contrail-Transport, Denkinger Internationale Spedition, Ralf Reyser Transporte & Logistik, Schade Logistic and Wessels Holding.

To date, Mercedes-Benz has received nearly 2,000 firm orders and a four-digit number of purchase intentions. This high figure is largely explained by the support offered to these German companies by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport, through a subsidy—known as KsNI—for the purchase of this type of zero-emission truck. A subsidy that was also time-limited and is no longer available.

A historic moment for Mercedes-Benz’s truck division

On the other hand, Mercedes-Benz has not hesitated to express its enthusiasm at having finally got the eActros 600 into the hands of its first customers. The company says that with 40 tonnes and a total range of 500 km without the need for intermediate recharging, the eActros 600 marks a before and after for the electrification of long-haul transport. Its high energy efficiency guarantees profitability for fleet operators, making sustainable transport a perfectly viable reality.

The eActros 600 is the third model produced in series at Daimler’s German truck plant in Wörth, following the start of production of the eActros 300/400 in 2021 and the eEconic in 2022. However, the eActros 600 is the only one that is assembled entirely on the same production line.
