The German brand will offer this 6×6 vehicle from October of this year, undoubtedly aimed at those who need a vehicle for remote or desert areas, which makes it a good prospect for wealthy Arab sheikhs and adventurers. No less than the largest vehicle Mercedes will produce.

The truth is that, as an admirer and practitioner of 4×4 off-roading, these vehicles catch my attention, all the more so when we see that it features six driven wheels. The G63 AMG 6×6 looks like a combat vehicle, with a height of almost 2.30 metres, a width of about 2.10 metres and a weight of nearly 4 tonnes.

Among the other features of this curious off-roader, we see that the two rear axles have a suspension that varies its stiffness depending on the axle, and they are fully independent. In addition, each tyre has a system that allows it to be inflated or deflated from the cabin, individually; it also has five differential locks that can be operated while moving. Inside, the four seats feature electric adjustment, heating and ventilation, plus a central console between the rear seats.

The engine of the G 63 AMG 6×6 is the AMG 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 with direct injection, producing 544 CV, combined with a 7-speed AMG automatic gearbox, the same powertrain as the G-Class. In total it carries two fuel tanks, the main one and an auxiliary one, totalling no less than 159 litres, necessary for a desert beast thirsty for petrol: 18 L/100 km.
