Mercedes-Benz GLB 180: the new entry version of the compact SUV
Mercedes adds to the range of the new Mercedes-Benz GLB the entry-level GLB 180 version, with the 4-cylinder 1.3-litre petrol engine, which delivers a power output of 100 kW (136 CV), and a maximum torque of 200 Nm between 1,640 and 4,000 rpm.
A very capable four-cylinder petrol engine
At first glance it may seem like a “small” engine for a car the size of the GLB. But this sophisticated petrol engine, paired with the 7G-DCT dual-clutch automatic gearbox, allows for some impressive figures: 0 to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds, and a top speed of 200 km/h. Combined consumption starts at 5.9 l/100 km under the NEDC cycle, which rises to a more realistic 6.9 l/100 km under the WLTP cycle.

Among other technologies, the GLB 180’s engine, which is also used in other models in the range, features a petrol particulate filter, turbocharger forced induction, an intercooler and a special cylinder coating to reduce internal friction.
As standard equipment, the GLB 180 includes a reversing camera, MBUX infotainment system, digital radio, climate control, LED headlights, automatic tailgate, 18-inch alloy wheels and the decorative details of the Progressive trim line.
Optionally, it can draw on the brand’s SUV technology, with features such as adjustable adaptive damping, a head-up display instrument cluster, navigation with augmented reality, or the Energizing comfort control.
Price of the Mercedes-Benz GLB 180
The price of the Mercedes-Benz GLB 180 for the Spanish market starts at 40,150 euros for the 5-seat version, and from 41,187 euros for the 7-seat version.

The price difference with the next step up in the range, the GLB 200 with the 1.3 engine in its 163 CV version, is about 2,500 euros. The same difference applies if the comparison is with the entry-level diesel in the range, the GLB 200 d with 150 CV.
