The current generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class has been on the market since approximately 2005 and needs a redesign to compete with the new BMW 7 Series and the new generation of the Audi A8, which will arrive in 2010. That is why, on the eve of the New York Auto Show, Mercedes Benz has revealed all the details and images of the new range.

In 2010, Mercedes Benz will further improve the S-Class’s safety system, including driver assistance systems, an advanced radar and an ultra-sensitive camera, which demonstrates the German brand’s expertise in the new software and detection technologies flooding the market.

In addition to the new S-Class, Mercedes will present a brand-new hybrid range, the S400, which will have a consumption of around 7.9 l/100 km.

The rest of the range in the United States includes the S550, with 382 CV, the S550 4MATIC all-wheel drive, the S600, with 518 CV, and the S65 AMG with 604 CV.

All these models are ready to arrive in North America in August.
